Step 1:

Distress the Wooden Shutter Edges using your ink pads and distress pads. If you chose a Dark Wooden Shutter, you can use sand paper to sand down the edges lightly to distress and leave wood exposed, or you can color distessed wood with colored ink pad. Or, if you don’t want to sand, you can use silvers, golds, and other metalic colors.

Step 2:

Stamp any images you like around the shutter.

Step 3:

Place all of your metal pieces and address letters/numbers around and once you like where they are, glue them down.

Step 4:

Now take the cabinet hinges, and place them on the top back side of the shutter with the hinge side up. You do not want the hinge touching the wall when you hang it or it will make the shutter stick off of the wall. You want the flat side flush with the wall.

Use a ruler and pencil to mark where you want your 2 or more cabinet hinges to be.

Use small nails and a hammer to connect the cabinet hinges to the shutter.
